  • Children dress in weather-appropriate gear, and we provide canopies to keep their belongings dry on rainy days. If there’s dangerous weather (high winds, lightning, or poor air quality), we’ll take a field trip to the Academy of Science.

  • Families pack morning snacks and lunch. We provide an afternoon snack that’s a healthy, balanced option.

  • Yes. Greenwood Trail is permitted and licensed by SF Recreation & Parks to operate as a forest school program in Golden Gate Park. We also carry full insurance coverage, as required by SF Rec & Park.

    All of our staff are certified in CPR and First Aid, have passed comprehensive background checks, and maintain negative TB test results and up-to-date immunizations in line with California health requirements. In addition, our team completes specialized training in bullying prevention and sexual abuse/misconduct prevention to ensure a safe, supportive environment for every child.

  • Families meet us at our designated gathering spot in Golden Gate Park. We’ll share a clear map and instructions when you enroll and send out our current location for the week through Brightwheel.

  • Yes! If your child naps, we provide rest time in a cozy environment with warm blankets.

  • Yes, we work closely with parents to support each child’s potty training journey.

  • Yes! Forest school builds strong social, problem-solving, and early academic skills through play and exploration. Kids learn math, literacy, and science naturally in real-world settings and through the lessons our teachers provide.

  • We recommend water proof shoes or rain boots, weather-appropriate clothing, and a backpack with extra layers.
